Hops for Isaiah: Fundraiser for 4-year-old boy battling leukemia

Two local breweries are teaming up in a first of-its-kind fundraiser to help a young Indio boy battling leukemia.

The fundraiser, Hops for Isaiah, takes place this Saturday, with Babe’s Bar-B-eque & Brewhouse along with La Quinta Brewing Co. running a brewery loop.

Those who attend will be shuttled to three locations to enjoy beer and entertainment all hoping to raise money for 4-year-old Isaiah Hernandez, who has been battling leukemia for half his life.

Proceeds from the event will help the family with medical expenses after recent financial setbacks because of his disease.

“I think what people need to realize is that this is a 4-year-old boy. He’s not a kid that we see on TV, he’s not a kid that we see in the newspaper, he’s a real boy that deserves to graduate high school, play baseball. He needs our help,” said Arthur Vasquez, operations manager at Babe’s.
