House fire in Whitewater caused by arson

Cal Fire confirms that a fire reported at a home in Whitewater on Friday was caused by arson.

The fire happened at 11:48 a.m. on the 15700 block of Sunrise Drive and was quickly contained.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire but there were animals on the property, none of them were injured.

Southern California Edison were called to repair power to the home.

Multiple starting points inside the home is the reason Cal Fire suspects it was arson.

They are now heading up the arson investigation.
