Sunday morning Cathedral City shooting leaves one person hospitalized

Cathedral City police confirm early Sunday morning shooting that left one person injured.

CCPD received several reports of gunfire in the 34500 block of Vaquero Rd at around 2:00 am. Officers arrived on scene and found a shooting victim.

A preliminary investigation determined an unknown suspect(s) fired at a home multiple times, striking one of the occupants. The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still working on determining the possible reason for the shooting. No additional information is available at this time.
