A Cabazon man was taken into custody Wednesday after a gang task force conducted a probation check at his home finding guns, drugs, and stolen items.

The Riverside County Sheriffs Department said Duane Ford, 55, was arrested at a residence in the 49000 block of Blanche Avenue shortly before noon.

Deputies and investigators had gone to the home for a probation compliance check. They say they found approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine, one handgun, and one shotgun.

The narcotics discovered had an estimated street value of $3,500.

Deputies said they also recovered several items of stolen property.

Ford was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales, Possession of Firearms while in possession of controlled substances, and a Violation of Probation.

He was booked into custody at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning where he remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of $30,000 bail.
