Two-vehicle crash in Whitewater sends three to hospital

Update 11/14: The California Highway Patrol confirmed that a four-year-old passenger died in the accident.

Three people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Whitewater on Monday morning.

The collision happened shortly before 11:20 a.m. on Chaparral Road and Tamarack Road.

Firefighters rescued three people, one of which had to be extricated from the wreck.

Cal Fire officials said two suffered major injuries and one suffered moderate injuries.

No word on what caused the crash.
