Wildfire near Desert Hot Springs contained

Firefighters have fully contained a wildland fire that broke out on Tuesday near Desert Hot Springs.

One firefighter sustained some minor burns while fighting a wildfire near the intersection of Palm Drive and 20th Avenue in an unincorporated area of Desert Hot Springs.

According to Cal Fire, the 40-acre fire was burning on the south side of 20th Avenue.

90 firefighters and one helicopter were on the scene, according to CalFire.

According to the Calfornia Highway Patrol, 20th at Bubbling Wells was closed as firefighter worked to put out the flames.

The fire was caused by a vehicle malfunction, according to Cal Fire..
