Desert Hot Springs Police arrest assault with a deadly weapon suspect
Police arrested a man for allegedly chasing down and shooting at another man in Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday night.
According to Desert Hot Springs Police, they received a number of calls about shots being fired in the area of 8th Street and Palm Drive shortly after 11 p.m.
One of the calls came from the alleged victim, who said he was being chased and shot at.
The victim provided a suspect vehicle description as well as a suspect description.
Officers found the suspect’s vehicle at a residence in the 66100 block of 5th Street and called out for the suspect, Joe Villegas.
Villegas was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Banning Jail.
