A shooting investigation was underway Monday morning at a Palm Springs residence on the 4100 block of Calle San Antonio.

Palm Springs Police Departments Public Information Officers, William Hutchinson, said dispatchers received 911 calls from the home regarding a person shot inside at 4:25 a.m.

A woman in her late 30’s or early 40’s was the apparent victim of a gunshot wound. Hutchinson said she was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition.

Investigators were talking to three men inside the home at the time of the shooting to try to determine exactly what happened, according to Hutchinson. There was no further word on the woman’s condition.

Police said they were pretty confident there was no evidence of any break-in and no threat to public safety.
