Read With Me receives December Coachella Valley Spotlight Grant
The Coachella Valley Spotlight Grant recipient for December is the Read With Me Volunteer Program.
Read With Me — which primarily works with students in the east valley — provides assistance for public schools that have a high concentration of children living in poverty, and or in homes where no English is spoken or parental education is lacking.
Read with Me plans to use the Berger Foundation grant money to buy new software and hardware that is user friendly. The money will be used to provide books for children in all nine schools in the region.
A portion of the grant funds will be used to train school staff, volunteers and cover transportation costs.
