Man arrested following hours-long barricade in Twentynine Palms
Deputies from the Morongo Basin Station arrested a man following an hours-long barricade situation in Twentynine Palms in which the man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend.
On Monday at 5:30 p.m. deputies responded to a report of domestic disturbance at an apartment complex on the 6500 block of Oasis Avenue.
As deputies arrived, they made contact with 36-year-old Peter Wolik who had barricaded himself inside, holding a knife and requesting deputies to shoot him.

While trying to get Wolik out of the apartment, a second call was placed to dispatch from a female at a different residence in Twentynine Palms stating she was stabbed in the hand and was bleeding.
A deputy responded to the second address and confirmed the female had a large laceration to her hand and was found to be Wolik’s girlfriend and mother to his child.
She was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Deputies continued to maintain verbal communication with Wolik who began to place additional items in front of the doors and windows.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Special Weapons and Tactics team was called and after several hours of negotiations, Wolik eventually removed a barricade from behind a door and exited. Deputies said Wolik resisted arrest and after a short struggle, he was taken into custody.
Walik was booked into the county jail in lieu of $100,000 bail after being treated for injuries he sustained after breaking an apartment window with his fist while he was barricaded, and as a result of the altercation.
