Man injured in Coachella assault

Riverside County Sheriffs Deputies were searching for a suspect after an attack in Coachella early Tuesday morning.

Deputy Armando Munoz said deputies were called to an assault with a deadly weapon call near Highway 86 and Dillon Road at approximately 3:45 a.m.

They found a man in the area suffering from nonlife-threatening injuries.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

There was no immediate word on what type of weapon was used in the attack.

A search for a suspect was continuing Tuesday morning, but police provided no suspect description.
