Fox & Fiddle to relaunch as DRINGK
The River in Rancho Mirage is ringing in the new year with a new and improved bar.
The Fox & Fiddle is getting a major face-lift, along with a re-opening just before the new year.
Kurt Gardner has owned the restaurant and bar for about a year. Next week, Gardner is closing its doors for a major makeover and a new name, DRINGK.
“Its spelt d-r-i-n-g-k, pronunciation out of the dictionary, eatery and bar. A concept that’s going to speak to incredible value, a fun, light, causal atmosphere, bar, restaurant. That’s going to offer $5 cocktails, beer, draft, wine, all day long,” Gardner said.
The relaunch comes after facing several setbacks over the past few months.
“There’s a lot of factors. The parking definitely hurt us. Everybody in the Rancho Mirage community has reached out and spoken to us about the parking here. We did not have parking for almost five months when we first opened the brand new concept. It is what it is,” said Gardner.
Steve Rin, the marketing director at The River, says DRINGK will cater to a broader demographic.
“With the other tenants that we have here, they’re already established tenants as well. There’s a lot of competition in that space, and by rebranding into something with a little more of a hipster, millennial element, it’ll bring in that younger crowd that we’re also looking to connect with,” Rin said.
DRINGK debuts on Dec. 31 for The River’s exclusive New Years Eve party, held from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
