One person dies in Thousand Palms shooting

A person is dead following an accidental shooting in Thousand Palms Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened near the area of Sierra del Sol in the desert area, north of 28th Avenue at after 12:00 p.m.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the injured person died from their injuries.

No word on the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation.
