Locals, tourists enjoying warm weekend in Palm Springs

Tourists and locals are enjoying our warm winter temperatures, filling the streets and shops of downtown Palm Springs which look and feel very different than almost anywhere else in the country.

After a violent winter storm slammed into the East Coast, folks were forced to deal with some incredibly harsh conditions including ice-filled streets and snow piled everywhere. From the Midwest to the Northeast and even in Southern states like Georgia, people are shoveling snow.

Back here in the Coachella Valley, it’s a totally different story. Tourists and locals are enjoying some of the best temperatures in the nation by eating dinner outside on the patio and wearing shorts.“We love it. When we were hiking we were all wearing short and people are like, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s 55 degrees. Why are you wearing shorts and a tank top?’ We’re like, ‘It’s 60 degrees warmer here,'” said Maddie Leyden, who is with her family visiting from Detroit.
