Palm Springs Aerial Tramway announces winners of annual snow guessing contest

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway’s Snow Guessing Contest ended Tuesday, with 10 winning entries.

Contestants were asked to predict the correct date when the first inch of measurable snowfall would appear at the tram’s Mountain Station, situated at an elevation of more than 8,500 feet in the San Jacinto Mountains overlooking Palm Springs. One inch of measurable snow was reached by 6:35 am Tuesday morning, according to Tram officials.

The first 10 entries with the correct date were submitted by:
— B.K. Palmer of Palm Desert;
— Brenda Siddon of Desert Hot Springs;
— Mr. & Mrs. A. Shutak of Palm Springs;
— Harold Clumeck of Palm Springs;
— M.L. Bratton of Indio;
— Jeff Givo of Irvine;
— Linda Dinko of Cathedral City;
— Vanessa Ng of Irvine;
— Diane Lakata of Palm Desert; and
— Tim McQuaide of Culver City.

The contestants will each take home four Tramway admissions and a Tramway snow globe.

A total of 845 entries were submitted since the contest began Oct. 1.
