WATCH: Big rig collides with truck on I-10

Interstate 10 was back up to speed Tuesday morning after a collision involving a big rig semi-truck and another vehicle. The crash backed up traffic in both directions of Interstate 10 in Indio for more than an hour.

A SigAlert was issued for Interstate 10 in both directions due to the backup between the Jefferson Street interchange and Washington Street.

Traffic was at a near standstill in both directions of the freeway lanes at 8:15 a.m.

The collision was reported at 7:42 a.m. and blocking the eastbound I-10 slow lane just west of Jefferson Street.

Westbound freeway traffic was back up to speed at 8:55 a.m., but eastbound traffic continued to see backup delays for some time before traffic flowed back to normal.
