CHP sobriety checkpoint scheduled for Saturday

California Highway Patrol announced that they will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday at an undisclosed location in the Coachella Valley.

The checkpoint will be held from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Drivers approaching a checkpoint will see information signs advising them that a checkpoint is ahead. Unimpaired motorists will be detained only a few moments while an officer explains the purpose of the checkpoint.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
