As a driver was heading west on Ramon Road, Luna said the man stepped into the roadway’s left lane and the driver “was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision.”

The pedestrian was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Luna said alcohol was not a factor in the crash for either the pedestrian or the driver.
