Two injured, one dead after two car crash in Coachella

One person died and two people were injured in a multiple vehicle crash in Coachella Thursday night.

The crash happened at 9:10 PM at the intersection of Harrison & Cairo.

According to Cal Fire at the time of the collision, one adult suffered critical injuries and two minors suffered minor injuries. They were transported to the hospital for treatment. Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the adult later died from their injuries.

The driver of the Ford Mustang involved in the crash was not hurt and was seen undergoing sobriety tests on the side of the road.

Northbound lanes of Harrison Street were closed from Cairo Street to Avenue 52 for a few hours. They were reopened at around 1:30 a.m.

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the cause of the crash. No arrests have been made so far. Stay with KESQ / CBS Local 2 for any updates.
