Boys and Girls Club members experience CareerBuilder Challenge

80 boys and girls got to spend the day at the CareerBuilder challenge Saturday.

This is all a part of the tournament’s outreach with the local Boys and Girls Clubs across the Coachella Valley. Kids got a front-row view of the tournament and even a behind-the-scenes look at the media center. The day is geared toward exposing kids to events they’ve not been to before.

“This is my first time being involved with golf in general, so it’s kind of a nice experience learning more about sports. And I’m not really a sports person, so it’s nice getting to learn about new things,” said Julio Jaimes from Cathedral City.

CareerBuilder is also awarding 500 boys and girls with scholarships that will cover costs associated with sending a child to one of the local clubs.
