Police investigating sexual battery on La Quinta hiking trail

Authorities are looking for a man accused of grabbing a woman in a sexual manner while she was hiking on the Bear Creek Trail Monday morning in La Quinta.

The victim told police she chased the suspect but lost sight of him near the north end of Avenida Carranza.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 20-25 years old, about 5’10” tall, with a slim build, short dark hair, and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, black undershirt, black pants, and black shoes.
