UPDATE: High-speed chase suspect identified
The woman who led authorities on a high-speed chase yesterday has been identified as 38-year-old Tessa DeLeon of Riverside. DeLeon was booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio for charges of Evading Arrest and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
The pursuit began in the area of Varner Road and Ramon Road in Thousand Palms and ended at the intersection of Malki Road and Seminole Road in Cabazon. No one was injured during the pursuit and arrest.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies spotted the stolen van near Ramon Road and Arbor Real Avenue at around 3:30 pm.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not yield, eventually getting on the I-10 Westbound at speeds of over 100 MPH. The California Highway Patrol joined the pursuit.
The vehicle eventually stopped at Seminole Road in front of the Chevron gas station in Cabazon.
The suspect spent over an hour in the vehicle on Seminole Road near the Morongo Indian. She surrendered to authorities shortly before 5:30 pm.
