Palm Desert man accused of credit card fraud

A Palm Desert man was behind bars Thursday morning accused of using a company credit card to pay for a personal holiday shopping spree.

Police arrested David Grodski, 58, Wednesday at his Palm Desert home on charges of embezzlement and credit card fraud.

Officers were called to a business along the 73000 block of El Paseo on Christmas day.

The apparent victim reported a number of fraudulent transactions on a business’s credit card.

The card in question had been issued to Grodski, who allegedly never returned it after he resigned from a job at the company.

Multiple fraudulent transactions were recorded on the businesses credit card between December 22 and December 25.

Deputies say they recovered more than $2,000 worth of stolen property at a home along the 73200 block of Catalina Way, said to be related to the thefts.

Grodski was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for embezzlement, credit card fraud and burglary. His bail was set at $180,000. He was expected in court Friday morning.
