Former Twentynine Palms basketball coach with statement on resignation

On Thursday, January 25th KESQ/CBS Local 2 Sports Director Blake Arthur learned of the resignation of reigning CIF Champion Twentynine Palms’ head basketball coach TJ Stanford with his team undefeated & first place in the De Anza League. We now have a comment from the former coach about his decision to resign from his position.

“I resigned because my school district and school board does not support coaches or teachers. They allow parents to harass, bully, and intimidate coaches. The parents are supported by the school district and the school board without even asking the coaches side. I cannot coach for a superintendent and school board that convicts before even talking to them in person. Teachers and coaches are not supported by the school board and superintendent in the Morongo Unified School District.”
