Border Patrol arrests deported child sex offender in Calexico

El Centro Sector Border Patrol has arrested a previously deported child rapist in Calexico, California on Tuesday night. The man has been identified as Gregorio Olivarez-Aguilar, a citizen of Mexico. He was deported from the United States on November 11, 2017.

Olivarez-Aguilar was arrested and convicted on July 14, 2014, in Kings County, Washington for the kidnapping and rape of a minor. He was sentenced to 17 months in prison with 26 to 50 months’ probation according to records.

“The U.S. Border Patrol will do everything within its power to ensure that criminal aliens that prey on our communities are either prosecuted or removed from the United States,” stated Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David S. Kim in a news release. “Cooperation with state and local law enforcement agencies helps us ensure that offenders like this, face consequences when trying to return to the United States and the communities they victimized.”

Olivarez-Aguilar’s identity was confirmed once Border Patrol agents brought him to the Calexico station. During his initial encounter with Border Patrol, a brief interview revealed that he was a citizen of Mexico without the proper documents to remain in the U.S. legally.

Olivarez-Aguilar is currently in federal custody pending prosecution.
