Child hospitalized after being hit by vehicle

A child was hospitalized with minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Cathedral City.

The accident happened on the intersection of Tachevah Drive and Avenida La Paz at around 3:30 pm.

The child, who according to Cathedral City police was around 11 years old, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Cathedral City police said the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.

Roads were blocked for nearly an hour but are now back open.
