Fugitive arrested for Banning double homicide
A man who is “believed to be responsible” for a December 29th double-homicide in Banning, has been arrested, according to a Banning Police Department news release. He was subsequently transported to the Banning Police Station and released to Banning detectives.
Kris Kenny, 44, of San Bernardino, is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Shanetta Dixon, 37, and Francisco Sanchez, a resident of Dixon’s home. In addition to the double-homicide charges, Kenny faces multiple allegations of lying in wait and committing multiple murders, which could make him eligible for the death penalty.
The arrest came following a one-month surveillance operation and investigation by Team 6, which is a part of the United States Marshal Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Force (PSWRFTF). Kenny fled on foot after initial contact with the Marshals but was apprehended shortly thereafter.
Anyone with additional information relating to this case is urged to contact Lt. Fisher of the Banning Police Department Detective Bureau at 951-849-1195.
