Dr. Deepak Chopra visits Palm Springs on book tour
World-renowned doctor and New York Times bestselling author Deepak Chopra made a visit to Palm Springs Saturday night.
Hundreds filled the auditorium at Palm Springs High School for Chopra’s first West Coast stop on his book tour for The Healing Self.
Chopra’s visit is a part of Palm Springs Speaks, a speaker series presented by the Palm Springs Cultural Center and Friends of the Palm Springs Library.
“I’ve seen a lot of excitement,” Friends of the Palm Springs Library Volunteer Mike Thompson said. “There’s a lot of real fans who came to see him tonight.”
“He’s a well-rounded, spiritual being that’s influenced so many people in my life, let alone myself,” Palm Springs resident Jonathan Mugridge said. “The teachings that he’s introduced to me throughout my life have really brought about a big change.”
Thompson said this is the first year for the Palm Springs Speaks speaker series.
Proceeds from Saturday night’s event will benefit the Palm Springs Cultural Center and Palm Springs Public Library.
