I think it’s fun to celebrate the fashion while we’re celebrating the architecture. That rarely gets reflected on. And it adds to the atmosphere of the party. Lots of people dress up and it’s cool to create a conversation on what you’re wearing,” shopkeeper and owner Nicolas Delgado said.
Delgado walked us through the do’s and don’ts of dressing the part.
“I would go with something colorful, clean lines, maybe even a broach or hat,” Delgado said.
He said for the men — go contemporary.
“Men are always wondering what to wear to these parties and that’s when I think its best to turn to contemporary designers like Mr. Turk or Wil Stiles. They carry very cool fabrics and jackets and stuff that fits in with that era,” Delgado said.
He said there’s one thing everyone can do to stand out from the crowd.
“I love when people use florals, especially fresh florals. Whether it’s in their hair or on a broach or something,” Delgado said.
