29 Palms stabbing death victim identified

The Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Department has released the identity of a 22-year-old man killed in a Twentynine Palms stabbing. Just after noon on Feb.. 5, deputies responded to reports of a stabbing at residence on the 74000 block of Joe Davis Drive. There they found Dominique Clement suffering from stab wounds. The deputies later found William Olivo, 25, outside the apartment armed with a knife.

Clemente was transported to an area hospital and died at 2:46 p.m.

Olivo initially complied with the deputies’ orders, but later resisted when he was being put into handcuffs. The deputies shocked him with a taser then took him into custody. He was taken to an area hospital to treat a laceration that is believed to have been suffered during an altercation with the victim. After treatment, he was released from the hospital and booked into the Morongo Jail.

Olivo has since been transported to the West Valley Detention Center, where he is being held without bail.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail is currently handling the investigation. The motive behind the stabbing is still unclear.

Anyone with additional information on this case is urged to contact Detective Travis Randolph of the Homicide Detail at (909)-387-3589. To issue an anonymous tip, call the We-tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME or go to the We-Tip Hotline website at wetip.com.
