Gunshots reportedly heard at Moreno Valley Mall

Gunshots were reportedly heard inside the Moreno Valley Mall today, triggering a systematic search by sheriff’s personnel.

Authorities received multiple calls about shots being fired in the mall at about 11:40 a.m., according to Riverside County sheriff’s Deputy Mike Vasquez. The department reported that the mall at 22500 Town Circle was being searched, and that there was no active shooter.

As of 12:45 p.m., no victims had been found.

Vasquez said investigators were talking to witnesses and utilizing mall security cameras in the search.
