Former Cathedral City Council Member dies
A former Cathedral city Council Member Chuck Vasquez died Monday, according to a post on his Facebook page by his pastor, Pamela Chesterman.
Vasquez, 63, had undergone a double bypass surgery at Eisenhower Hospital last week on February 5. He posted, over the past week, was going through a complicated recovery process.
In 2014, Vasquez was sentenced to three years probation after pleading guilty to embezzling funds from an employee loan program.
He resigned from the city council the same year.
According to Pastor Chesterman, Vasquez spent his last moments doing what he loved, ministering to others.
