Local organization hosting immigration workshops

A local organization is looking to educate the immigrant community after video surfaced of immigration agents questioning people as they pumped gas in Indio.

The video is from this past Thursday at the AM/PM on 48th Avenue and Indio Boulevard.

This week, the organization “Comite Latino” will be holding an informative workshop to educate people on what they should do if they or a loved one is approached by immigration agents.

The workshop is modeled after the successful Rapid Response Network that serves the Inland Empire. The first set of workshops will be in English with Spanish translation available. There will be a Spanish workshop at a later date.
