Desert Hot Springs homicide suspect arrested

Desert Hot Springs police have identified the suspect in a Feb. 14 shooting that left one person dead and one person injured. The suspect was arrested during a Los Angeles Police SWAT team raid in the San Pedro community of the city at 9:30 a.m. this morning.

The SWAT team arrived to the residence on the 1200 block of West Third Street in San Pedro at 6 a.m. After a barricade and 3 1/2 hours, an arrest was made according to Los Angeles PD Officer Luis Garcia. No injuries were reported.

The man has been identified as 38-year-old Anthony Webb of Los Angeles. He was arrested on murder and attempted murder charges for his alleged involvement in the Feb. 14. Desert Hot Springs shooting. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Desert Hot Springs Police are still on the scene and assisted in the arrest. A separate group of DHSPD officers are transporting the suspect back to the Coachella Valley where he will face charges for the Feb. 14 murder according to DHSPD.

The shooting took place on the 12000 block of Avenida Alta Loma in Desert Hot Springs, In the evening of the 14th, police responded to reports of a shooting at that location and arrived on the scene to find one man dead from a gunshot wound and a woman suffering from what police described as “non-life-threatening injuries.”
