Injured bicyclist rescued after 500 ft fall on Palm Desert trail

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies have responded to reports of an injured hiker on Hopalong Cassidy Trail in Palm Desert. Riverside County Fire is also on the scene. The report was received at 10 a.m.

The hiker is female and the extent of her injuries is currently unknown, according to Deputy Armando Munoz of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The hiker reportedly fell 500 feet and sustained serious injuries from the fall.

A bike was found at the scene, it is unclear at this time if the hiker was riding a bike or traveling on foot. Emergency responders are still attempting to reach the hiker at this time.
