Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by a smart car

A pedestrian was hit by a smart car Friday evening in Palm Springs.

Palm Springs police confirmed the accident happened on W San Rafael Dr and McCarthy Rd shortly before 6:30 pm

“We were just cruising along, regular speed and all of the sudden, there was a guy on our windshield. I don’t know where he came from. I don’t know if he stepped off the curb, but we just found the skateboard, so I don’t know if he was on it,” said Ray Capusogti, the driver involved in the crash

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, PSPD confirmed. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the accident.
