The Infiniti was traveling at ” a high rate of speed in a reckless manner” on Calhoun northbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the bus, which was traveling in the left lane southbound according to Officer Radford.

Calhoun was closed down to traffic in front of the Sierra del Sol community, from Avenue 48 south to Avenue 50. The road will remain closed for at least “the next several hours.” There is currently no timeline on when the Calhoun between Avenue 48 and 50 will be reopened.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision at this time.
