Five adults,three children displaced after mobile home fire

Eight people were displaced when a fire erupted in a home in Indio Saturday, though no one was injured.

The blaze was reported at 1:46 p.m. in the 81000 block of Avenue 46, according to Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found a double-wide manufactured home fully engulfed in flames, she said.

The fire was contained in just under an hour by 23 firefighters, Cabral said.

The American Red Cross was requested to assist the five adults and three children who were displaced.
