2018 Warburton raises more than $2.5 million
As the 2018 Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament wrapped up Sunday, the tournament raised more than $2.5 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“All kids deserve a chance to live long, healthy lives, so I am thankful for the generous donors, hardworking volunteers, local community and guests who attended from all over the country to show their support for St. Jude families,” Warburton said.
The eighth annual tournament featured Warburton and more than 75 other celebrities in a weekend of golf and music, with funds raised going toward the hospital that treats pediatric cancer patients and children with other life-threatening diseases.
In addition to golf at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, attendees also enjoyed the BMW Performance Driving Center West in Thermal, which included celebrities getting behind the wheel to take part in a variety of different races, live and silent auctions, and three nights of live music.
“What we raised this weekend is about what it costs to operate St. Jude for a day,” said tournament chairman Clarke Rheney. “Since this event’s inception eight years ago, we’ve contributed nearly $10 million to help the real stars of this tournament — St. Jude kids.”
The event is hosted by actor Patrick Warburton.
Last year, the event raised more than $2.2 million for St. Jude. The 2019 tournament is slated for Feb. 28-March 3.
