Indio woman arrested for embezzling from Bermuda Dunes Country Club

An Indio woman has been arrested for embezzling funds from the Bermuda Dunes Country Club. 33-year-old Paola Vargas was arrested shortly after 10:00 a.m. on March 1st, according to Public Information Officer Armando Munoz of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

It is estimated that she embezzled approximately $325,000 from Bermuda Dunes Country Club over a seven-year-span.

She was booked into Riverside County Jail in Indio and is being held on $400,000 bail.

She is facing 2 felony charges for money laundering and embezzlement over $400.00. The investigation into the alleged embezzlement incident had been underway since June of 2017.
