Cabazon outlets evacuated due to gas leak

Approximately 100 stores at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets have been evacuated due to a gas leak, according to Cal Fire. Southern California Gas Company is currently on the scene and has been unable to fix the leak.

The first fire engine on the scene reported an exterior gas leak caused by construction equipment. The evacuation of the stores was a precautionary measure, there have been no injuries reported at this time.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters and the Morongo Fire Department are currently on the scene.

The outlets are located on the 48000 block of Seminole Drive in Cabazon. The incident was initially reported just after 10 a.m. this morning.
