Power to be restored to some Desert Hot Springs residents around 11 p.m.

According to Southern California Edison, 1,610 Desert Hot Springs customers were without power for several hours Saturday afternoon in the area of Pierson Boulevard and Palm Drive.

The company said it estimated power would be restored to most customers by 3:30 p.m. The cause of the outage was determined to be due to equipment problems.

As of 5:30 p.m., 18 customers were still without power. An update estimated time of restoration was 11 p.m. SCE said a crew was on the way.
