Alleged Cathedral City marijuana dispensary robber pleads not guilty
A convicted felon and state prison inmate who allegedly robbed a Cathedral City medical marijuana dispensary at gunpoint last year pleaded not guilty to robbery charges.
Travion Riddick, 24, formerly of San Bernardino, faces three counts of robbery and firearm allegations stemming from the alleged April 26, 2017, heist at No Wait Meds, 68860 Ramon Road.
Riddick and an unidentified man allegedly entered the dispensary about 7 p.m., demanded money and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and “marijuana products,” Cathedral City police Cmdr. Julio Luna said. No one was injured during the robbery.
The suspects fled in a gray older model four-door vehicle that was found at Riddick’s home when he was arrested the following day, according to Luna. He said evidence from the armed robbery was found inside the vehicle.
Riddick was released on $30,000 bail but was taken into custody in San Bernardino County for a probation violation before he could be arraigned on the robbery case. He was sentenced last July to three years in state prison for violating his probation, stemming from an assault conviction, according to San Bernardino County Superior Court records.
On Monday, he was transferred to Riverside County from the California City Correctional Center. He’s now being held without bail at the Riverside County jail in Indio and is slated to return to court on Thursday for a felony settlement conference.
