Snowfall brings winter feel to Banning

A winter storm brought blistering cold winds and light rain to parts of the Coachella Valley and measurable snow to our local mountains.

Snow that fell in Banning stuck to the ground and covered people’s cars.

The temperature was not cold enough for the snow on the roads to last, so driving conditions were not dangerous.

People in the area have been waiting for this first real taste of winter.

“Usually the first snow like this one gets the ground freezing and then if we get another storm behind it, woah, my doggies are going to be cold,” said Ted David of Banning.

More wet and cold winter conditions are expected later this week.
