Bicyclist struck by car in Palm Springs

At approximately 12:36 p.m., a car traveling westbound on Ramon Rd struck a bicyclist at the intersection of Ramon Rd and Avenida Caballeros according to the Palm Springs Police Department. The sedan was traveling in the far right lane when the collision occurred. The cyclist sustained moderate non-life-threatening injuries. The driver sustained no injuries.

The intersection of E. Ramon Rad & S. Avenida Caballeros was closed for approximately an hour after the accident.

It is unclear at this time if the cyclist was in the crosswalk at the time of the collision. The driver had the right of way at the time of the collision, as the light was green.
