Wrong way driver causes serious crash near Desert Hot Springs

Three people are hurt after a three car collision that happened around 7:45 p.m. Friday. near the intersection of Palm Drive and Varner Road.

Officials tell CBS Local 2/KESQ a vehicle headed the wrong way on Palm Drive, struck a truck carrying a trailer. The trailer flipped over and hit a sports car.

Cars are being diverted from Varner to Mountain View Road while authorities investigate.

No word on the extent of the injuries.
