Stands For You Update: Woman gets refund from Rancho Mirage cremation service provider

A high-desert woman is getting a refund from a Rancho Mirage cremation services provider.

Amanda Knobloch told CBS Local 2 she was unhappy with how “Trident Society” handled the body of her mother Karol, who passed away in November.

Knobloch ended up having another company cremate her mother’s remains after trident initially turned down her request for a refund. She also filed a complaint with the state and asked CBS Local 2’s Tom Tucker to stand for her.

When our story first aired in early January, Trident said out of concerns for privacy they could not discuss the case but they “strongly disputed” Knobloch’s complaint and at that time and refused to issue the refund.

“Trident Society strongly disputes the facts as presented. However, as part of our commitment to all of our client families, we guard their privacy, and because of this, we cannot discuss the specific details of these client arrangements with the media.” – Email from Trident Society

However, last week, Knobloch received a $1,200 refund. “Trident Society” did not respond to a request for a comment on the refund.
