Tab Hunter featured at Rancho Mirage speaker series
Actor and singer Tab Hunter will be the keynote speaker tonight during the final event of the 2018 Rancho Mirage Speaker Series.
Hunter, 86, will take the stage at 7 p.m. at the Annenberg Health Sciences Building at Eisenhower Medical Center, 39000 Bob Hope Drive.
The star of “Damn Yankees,” “Gunman’s Walk,” and “The Burning Hills” will discuss his career in both film and music during Hollywood’s Golden Age. Hunter boasts more than five decades of big screen appearances, as well as songs that topped the charts in both the U.S. and U.K.
His 1957 song “Young Love” was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six weeks.
Most recently, he was featured in a documentary, “Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star,” inspired by his autobiography, which covered his career and struggle with concealing his homosexuality during his heyday.
Hunter also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
This year’s Rancho Mirage Speaker Series also included talks from former the former commander of NATO forces, retired Gen. Wesley Clark, and CBS journalist Lara Logan.
