Fleischman was arrested while law enforcement officers were serving two separate weapons-related search warrants at two residences in Desert Hot Springs. The two residences in question are located within the 66100 block of Second Street and the 13400 block of Quinta Way.
Following the warrant services, CVVCGTF members observed a person of interest driving a vehicle in the area of Little Morongo Road and 13th avenue. A traffic stop was attempted, the driver failed to stop his vehicle, and a short pursuit ensued.
The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Faustino Navar of Desert Hot Springs, was apprehended and arrested for possession of a stolen firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a gang member in possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of suspected methamphetamine.
Fleischman and Navar were booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
