Former La Quinta Head Coach Dan Armstrong expected to join Shadow Hills staff
KESQ & CBS Local 2 confirmed with Dan Armstrong that after 23-years as the head coach of La Quinta High School football he is expected to join the coaching staff at Shadow Hills High School. It wouldn’t become official until the position becomes listed open & the school board hiring process runs its course but he is expecting to be on the Knights’ sideline in 2018. He’d be coaching under his former assistant coach of 12-years Ron Shipley.

Armstrong expressed his interest in returning for his 24th season before the La Quinta administration made the decision to go in a different direction. On February 6th they hired Patrick Rivenes as just their second head coach in program history. Shadow Hills will play at La Quinta on October 5th.
